THE PILLOWMAN
By Martin McDonagh
Directed by Gregory Boyd

Neuhaus Stage Production
January 27 - February 26, 2006

McDonagh's Tony-nominated play and 2005 Broadway sensation, THE PILLOWMAN, is a viciously funny new drama about a fiction writer in a totalitarian state who is questioned by police about the gruesome content of his short stories and their similarities to a number of bizarre incidents occurring in his town.  THE PILLOWMAN had its world premiere at The National Theatre in London and recently ended its Broadway run at the Booth Theatre.  The Alley's production will be the first resident theatre production of the most anticipated script in years.  The Alley also produced the resident theatre premiere of McDonagh's break-through play The Beauty Queen of Leenane in 1999.

Please note: This play contains scenes and language that some may find disturbing.  Not suitable for children or for those who may be easily offended.

JOURNEY'S END

By R. C. Sherriff
Directed by Gregory Boyd

Hubbard Stage Production
February 24 - March 19, 2006

Journey's End is set during the last great German offensive of the war and concerns a group of British soldiers, showing the effects battle has on them -- physically, mentally and spiritually -- and celebrates the resilience of the human heart even during the most extreme of circumstances.

Artistic Director Gregory Boyd directed a new production of Journey's End for Joanne Woodward's Westport (Connecticut) Playhouse this past August to rave reviews. Variety described it as, "Gregory Boyd's finely calibrated, haunting production about the human price of military engagement."

ORSON'S SHADOW
By Austin Pendleton
Directed by David Cromer

Neuhaus Stage Production
March 31 - April 30, 2006

A clever comedy that re-imagines a moment in 1960 when theatrical titans Orson Welles, Sir Laurence Olivier, Joan Plowright, Vivien Leigh and critic Kenneth Tynan collaborated on a botched stage production of Eugene Ionesco's Rhinoceros.  Charles Isherwood of The New York Times writes, "Austin Pendleton's delightful backstage comedy is a sharp-witted but tenderhearted examination of the thin skins, inflamed nerves, and rampaging egos that are customary side effects when artistic talent meets worldly achievement.

THE MISER
By Moliere
Directed by Dominique Serrand

Hubbard Stage Production
April 7 - 30, 2006

One of the greatest farces in classic dramatic literature, Moliere's THE MISER uses sharp wit and biting satire to draw audiences into the world of the tyrannical Harpagon, a ruthless, self-absorbed patriarch, perfectly willing to sacrifice his children for greed.  When Harpagon's plans to marry off his children are thwarted by their own love interests, a comedic chaos ensues, filled with lovers, vows, hidden treasure, and mistaken identities.  The well-known French comedy gets a new production at the Alley Theatre by Theatre de la Jeune Lune of Minneapolis, winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre.  According to the Boston Globe, Theatre de la Jeune Lune's production of THE MISER "has such grace and wit that it's churlish to be miserly with one's praise."
