OVERVIEW
Hopeful, heartbreaking, and at times “blisteringly
funny” (The New York Times), The Humans takes place on
Thanksgiving as three generations of the Blake family
gather at the youngest daughter and her boyfriend’s new
apartment in Lower Manhattan’s Chinatown. As darkness
falls outside and around the pre-war duplex, tensions
rise and secrets are divulged. The hopes and fears of
each generation – and the American middle class – are
revealed in this Tony® Award -winning Best Play that The
New York Times hailed as “the best play of the year.”

A review of THE HUMANS
By Mike Salinas
info@TownTastes.com March 7, 2019
The play,
The Humans is set
in an impoverished New
York City apartment. It's
all about a dysfunctional family of grownups coming
together for Thanksgiving.
Each character has many
issues in
their lives they have
been dealing
with for
quite a while, especially in the last year. Despite
the personal turmoil, they are still
thankful for their core family, for in a way that's all
they have
left to keep their hearts beating.
As the play progresses, it's discovered is that there is no
one in the family that
can that
can truly carry
the load for the other. Somehow together, their
collective strength is
all that can get
them through life. The
play shows that life
is full of many twists, turns and bumps in the night.
Some obstacles seem more
manageable to deal with than others.
