ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, winner of the 1999 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival will star Marilu Henner as Sharpshooter Annie Oakley in this rip roaring, award winning musical on December 19 - 24, 2000 at the Jones Hall.

ANNIE GET YOUR GUN features some of the best songs ever written for the Broadway stage, by legendary composer Irving Berlin, including: “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “I Got the Sun in the Morning,” “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly,” “You Can’t Get a Man With a Gun,” “They Say It’s Wonderful” and “Anything You Can Do.”

Stage, screen and television actress Marilu Henner who stars as Annie Oakley returned to the Broadway stage with rave reviews as “Chicago’s Roxie Hart.” Previous Broadway credits include: “Social Security,” “Pal Joey,” “Over Here” and “Grease.” She can be seen in the motion picture “Man On The Moon” starring Jim Carrey and has starred in 13 other feature films including “L.A. Story” with Steve Martin, “Noises Off” with Michael Caine, “Blood Brothers” with Richard Gere, two top - rated TV series - “Taxi” and “Evening Shade.” Marilu is a best - selling author with five titles to her credit.

This hoop - hollerin’ musical adventure is directed by Graciela Daniele with choreography by Graciela Daniele and Jeff Calhoun; costumes by William Ivey Long; sets by Tony Walton; a revised script by Peter Stone and musical supervision by John McDaniel.

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, a celebration of life, love, family and, of course, tradition will play Jones Hall January 23 - 28, 2001. Starring Theodore Bikel, (the consummate Teyve) this ageless musical leaves audiences singing, dancing and full of wonder at the strength and beauty of the human spirit. Featuring the enduring classics “Sunrise Sunset,” “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “To Life,” and many more. During its lifetime FIDDLER ON THE ROOF has accumulated enough Tony Awards, Oscars, New York Drama Critics’ Awards and accolades to attract over 100 million theatre and film enthusiasts.

Based on the stories of Russian - born Sholom Aleichem, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF unfolds in Anatevka, an impoverished village in Czarist Russia, minutes before the Revolution. The story focuses on Tevye and his five daughters. The story’s lesson speaks to the world and its generations to come. Sholom Aleichem once characterized his own work as “laughter through tears.” That is exactly the essence of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.” Perhaps that is the essence of life.

THE CIVIL WAR

THE CIVIL WAR, Frank Wildhorn’s most ambitious composition to date, starring country legend and Grammy Award winner, Larry Gatlin, will play Jones Hall April 10 - 15, 2001.

THE CIVIL WAR, a sweeping musical of love and life, inspired by the passion and turmoil of the men and women who defined a nation, was first staged at the Alley Theatre in 1997. It played on Broadway in the spring of 1999 to enthusiastic popular response, and received three Tony Award nominations. In addition, two popular recordings, “The Civil War - The Complete Work” and “The Civil War - The Nashville Sessions,” were released by Atlantic Records in 1998.

Frank Wildhorn is the popular American Broadway composer of the wildly successful Jekyll & Hyde and The Scarlet Pimpernel, and the Creative Director of Atlantic Theatre / Atlantic Records. In 1999, he became the first American composer in twenty - two years to have three shows running simultaneously on Broadway.

Gatlin’s talent has brought him many rewards, including international fame, a Grammy, a truckload of Number One songs, a starring role on Broadway, two films and treks around the world entertaining military personnel via USO tours. Larry starred in the Tony Award Winning Musical The Will Rogers Follies followed by the national road tour of Follies. In 1994 he launched Alive and Well in Bristol, PA, a musical he had written and scored and in 1998 he premiered his second musical, Texas Flyer, in Bristol, followed by another successful engagement in Houston. In 1998 his autobiography “All The Gold in California” was in bookstores around the nation.

Directed by Stephen Rayne, THE CIVIL WAR’s creative collaboration also includes: musical staging by Peter Pucci (The Joffrey Ballet’s Billboards, Pilobolus Dance Company); scenic design by Douglas W. Schmidt (original Broadway productions of Grease, They’re Playing our Song, and the upcoming firm version of The Fantasticks); lighting design by Howell Binkley (Kiss of the Spider Woman); costume design by Christine Hanak (NETworks’ current touring production of Show Boat); projections by Wendall K. Harrington (The Who’s Tommy, Ragtime); and orchestrations by Kim Scharnberg (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel).

The rousing musical tale of Miss Mona’s Chicken Ranch brothel in Gilbert Texas (for more than a century) is an exuberant, naughty riot full of hilarious scenes and musical numbers as nosey TV reporter “Watchdog” discovers the Chicken Ranch and demands its closing.

The glamorous and versatile Ann-Margret makes her musical comedy stage debut as Miss Mona in THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

Based on the tremendously successful 1977 movie of the same name, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, the musical, is a runaway Broadway hit! SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER opens at The Wortham Center on July 24th and runs through August 5th, 2001. The soundtrack from the movie is one of the largest selling movie soundtracks ever. With eight #1 hits from the Bee Gees and other artists, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER was the film that launched the disco craze of the ‘70s. With such songs as Night Fever, Disco Inferno, Stayin’ Alive, More Than a Woman, Tragedy, How Deep is Your Love and Nights on Broadway, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER remains as fresh today as it was in 1977. In addition, the Bee Gees have contributed two new songs exclusively for the stage version.

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is all about the thrill and release of dance. Arlene Phillips, the renowned choreographer makes her Broadway debut as director and choreographer with SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. She has choreographed feature films, television, music videos, commercials, concert arenas and for the stage and has been nominated for an Emmy, a Tony, an Olivier and an MTV award. In SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER the story is the star, dance, its reason for being.

SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is the story of Tony Manero, a 20 year old guy with a dead - end job, a desire to escape the confines of his family and find himself a larger stage on which he might shine and break free.

The New York Times says of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, the musical: “If you fancy disco dancing on stage, and you want to end up dancing in the aisles, this is the musical for you.”
